Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 19, 2026 Last Updated: March 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how UIN Wallet ("we", "us", or "UIN") handles information when you use the UIN Wallet mobile application.

1. Our Privacy Principles

UIN Wallet is designed with a privacy-first approach:

  • We do not require you to create an account
  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information
  • Your seed phrase and private keys never leave your device
  • We collect minimal technical data necessary to operate the service

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to UIN servers:

DataStoragePurpose
Encrypted seed phraseiOS Keychain / Android KeystoreWallet recovery
Wallet password hashSecure local storageTransaction authorization
HD address cacheEncrypted local storageAddress display performance
App preferences (theme, language, network)Local storageUser experience

This data is protected by your device's native secure storage mechanisms and is encrypted at rest.

3. Information Transmitted to Servers

3.1 Blockchain Network Requests

When you use UIN Wallet, the app communicates with blockchain network nodes to:

  • Fetch wallet balances
  • Retrieve transaction history
  • Broadcast signed transactions

These requests contain your public wallet address (not your private key or seed phrase). Public addresses are visible on the blockchain by design.

3.2 UIN API (Cloud Wallet Mode)

If you use Cloud Wallet mode, the app communicates with UIN's backend servers. The data exchanged includes:

  • Your public wallet address and a derived authentication token (no private key is transmitted)
  • Withdrawal request details (recipient address, amount)
  • Transaction status queries

UIN's backend does not receive your seed phrase, private key, or device password.

3.3 Network Node Selection

UIN Wallet connects to the node you select in Settings → Network. Requests sent to these nodes include your public wallet address. Node operators may have their own data retention policies.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

UIN Wallet does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • Government-issued ID or KYC documents
  • Device location data
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking data
  • Browsing history or app usage analytics

5. How We Use Information

The minimal technical information described above is used solely to:

  • Provide and maintain the wallet service
  • Process withdrawal requests (Cloud Wallet mode)
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues when reported by users
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

6. Data Retention

Local data on your device is retained until you delete the wallet or uninstall the app.

Server-side data (Cloud Wallet mode only) is retained for the period necessary to operate the service and comply with applicable regulations. You may request deletion of your cloud wallet data by contacting UIN support.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • Seed phrases and private keys are encrypted using your device's native secure storage
  • API communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Wallet authentication uses cryptographic token generation from your seed (no plain-text credentials)
  • Request signing (HMAC-based) is used to verify API request integrity

However, no security system is impenetrable. You are responsible for maintaining the physical security of your device and the confidentiality of your seed phrase.

8. Children's Privacy

UIN Wallet is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used UIN Wallet, please contact us.

9. Third-Party Services

UIN Wallet may interact with third-party blockchain explorers (TRONSCAN, Etherscan) or other services when you tap explorer links. These services have their own privacy policies. UIN is not responsible for third-party data practices.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access information held about you
  • Delete your cloud wallet data
  • Opt out of any future data collection practices

To exercise these rights, contact UIN support through official channels.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through app updates or in-app notices. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

12. Contact
